Parent Night Out this Friday evening

Drop your K-5 students off with us between 6-9 p.m. for some fun while you have a night to yourself!

Cost is $15/child.  Families with 3 or more children are capped at $40.

Activities such as movie, crafts, gym activities and more.

Snacks and drinks for additional purchase, $1 each.  Snacks are fruit, popcorn, chips, rice krispy treats, and drinks will be gatorade, water and juice box. You can help decide which goodies to choose when you sign in.

They will have an opportunity to visit the Penguin Patch and do their shopping from 7:00-8:00 p.m. instead of during school.  Please specify at sign-in if you would like for them to do some shopping!

There will be waivers to sign, and all attendees must be signed in and out by a parent. Allow yourself a few extra minutes to get your child all set up before you leave. We want to ensure safety for all of the children in our care that evening

Please RSVP to  Bluffsview6thGrade@gmail.com. Walk-ins are welcome as space allows.  Please specify the number of children you will have. We will then send you some forms to make check-in quicker and easier for you.  Sign in/out will be by the backdoor entrance.

6th graders will be helping during both events! Funds raised will be used for camp, service projects, gift to the school, and their end of elementary school celebration.  6th graders are being asked to help out as a “worker.”

Turkey Trot Volunteers Needed

It’s November, which means it’s time for Bluffsview’s annual turkey trot. We need a lot of volunteers to make this day run smoothly, and there are a few spots left for volunteers to help. Please consider signing up for a slot at SignUpGenius.

There are slots all day long for people to tally lap tags as the trotters do laps, hand out water, set up, and total tallies at the end of the day. Please consider spending a small (or large!) portion of your day with us. We also have a few spots for volunteers to help with lap tag prep before the event.

If you have any questions please contact Jenny Lee, jennybeth.lee@gmail.com or Chandra Tweedle, chandradawn@yahoo.com.

STEAM Night scheduled for May 8

Please join us for STEAM Night on May 8 from 6:00 until 8:00.

To kick things off, we will have the Paddy Wagon and Explorer’s Club food trucks at 5:30 and the Graeter’s Ice Cream truck. If the weather cooperates, OSU’s Drone club will be flying some of their drones. Rockets will be flying. Principal Fox and some of your favorite teachers will be racing life-sized hovercrafts built by Michael Seed. Kathyayani Mahadevan has graciously agreed to bring some of STEM-U’s robots and activities, which are always a hit. Worthington’s own WorBots (who won a competition in Cleveland last weekend) will be demonstrating how their robot works. And, of course, we will have hands on experiments and activities.

To make all this happen, we need volunteers. Please consider signing up. There are two shifts 6:00-7:00 and 7:00-8:00.

Volunteers needed for COSI on Wheels and Read-in

The PTA sponsors two special events in January, and we need your help to make them successful. Please consider signing to volunteer at one or both events on our PTA Sign Up Genius.

COSI on Wheels is on January 11 during the school day. COSI On Wheels introduces dynamic science topics to the entire school with a high-energy, 45-minute assembly followed by a day of hands-on activities that enhance science inquiry skills and encourage continued learning. We need 100 volunteers total for this school-day event.

The Read-in is on Thursday, January 25 from 6:30-8:00 p.m. The Read-in a part of our annual Read-a-Thon, which runs from Friday, January 19-Friday, January 26. We need 20 volunteers total for this fun family event.

Volunteers needed

Volunteers are a vital part of our school.  We could not have all these events if it were not for YOU!  We know you are busy and we respect your time!  Please consider all volunteer opportunities.  We promise it will not be a lot of time!  If you have a special talent you could share with the PTA, we always welcome the help as well.

Please consider volunteering for one or more PTA events throughout the year. You can sign-up at SignUpGenius.
