Thanks to school librarian for organizing the following events for Bluffsview Reading Week:
Tues, Jan. 29: Wear Your Special Word What’s your special word? Let us know by wearing your word. Get creative! Students will be making props for this is art class, but they can create on their own as well.
Wed, Jan. 30: Kate David Author Visit Author and Bluffsview parent Kate David will be visiting our school and sharing her award-winning picture books. Students will be able to order personal copies and have them signed.
Thursday, Jan. 31: Where Do You Want to Go? Reading takes us everywhere! Where do you want to go? Dress to show us! Want to visit Paris? Love the beach? Excited for a hiking trip? Ready to visit the moon? Have fun showing us where reading can take you!
Fri, Feb. 1: Family Fun Night Face painting! Reading! Board Games! Crafts! STEM activities! Nintendo Switch! us at the Northwest Library from 6:30-8:00 for a night of fun with the whole family. Wear your PJs and check out library materials. Pizza provided as supplies last.
Amy Tolbert will be handing out Spirit Wear tonight from 6:00-7:00 by the cafeteria. If you want to keep your purchase a surprise, stop by tonight. Can’t make it tonight? Contact Amy at amy.j.tolbert@gmail.com to make other arrangements. Purchases that aren’t a surprise can be sent home from school with students on Thursday.
Many of you ordered Spirit Wear to give as holiday presents. We will have an evening pick up time for those of you would would like your purchase to be a surprise!
Amy Tolbert will be at Bluffsview from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 19 for those of you who would like to pick up at that time. Those orders that aren’t picked up, will be sent home with students later in the week (Thursday, Dec. 20). If you have any questions, please contact Amy Tolbert at amy.j.tolbert@gmail.com.
Drop your K-5 students off with us between 6-9 p.m. for some fun while you have a night to yourself!
Cost is $15/child. Families with 3 or more children are capped at $40.
Activities such as movie, crafts, gym activities and more.
Snacks and drinks for additional purchase, $1 each. Snacks are fruit, popcorn, chips, rice krispy treats, and drinks will be gatorade, water and juice box. You can help decide which goodies to choose when you sign in.
They will have an opportunity to visit the Penguin Patch and do their shopping from 7:00-8:00 p.m. instead of during school. Please specify at sign-in if you would like for them to do some shopping!
There will be waivers to sign, and all attendees must be signed in and out by a parent. Allow yourself a few extra minutes to get your child all set up before you leave. We want to ensure safety for all of the children in our care that evening
Please RSVP to Bluffsview6thGrade@gmail.com. Walk-ins are welcome as space allows. Please specify the number of children you will have. We will then send you some forms to make check-in quicker and easier for you. Sign in/out will be by the backdoor entrance.
6th graders will be helping during both events! Funds raised will be used for camp, service projects, gift to the school, and their end of elementary school celebration. 6th graders are being asked to help out as a “worker.”

Students will enjoy shopping for their loved ones at the Holiday Shop (aka the Penguin Patch) during school hours and after school until 7:00 pm.
Please send cash only in the envelope attached to the flyer if you wish for your child to shop during school hours. Feel free to specify how much will be spent for each person on their list, and we will do our best to keep them close to those amounts. Prices range from as little as 25¢ up to $11.00.
If students are ONLY able to shop during school hours, please write “During School” in the special instructions area on the side.
