Volunteers needed for Spring Carnival

The Spring Carnival is operated 100% by volunteers. It’s a family event FOR families BY families.We are still in need of MANY volunteers to make the Carnival a success.

Please consider volunteering to work a 1-hour shift in one or more of the following areas:

  • Games
  • Ticket sales
  • Clean up
  • Raffle Room

Please note that your child can “help” with you.

Raffle donations still needed

The Spring Carnival & Raffle is in just a few short weeks and we are still in need of raffle donations!
If you are interested in marking a donation of any size, the raffle committee would so appreciate the help. Please send items to the Bluffsview office by March 14. No time to shop? Donate money, and the raffle chairs will do the shopping!

Bluffsview Carnival & Raffle Ticket Pre-sale

Buy pre-sale tickets for the carnival and save money!

  • Game & Food tickets: 5 for $1 (4 for $1 on Carnival Day)
  • Raffle tickets: 12 for $5 (50 cents each on Carnival Day)
  • Bluffsview Basket tickets: $1 ($1 each on Carnival Day

The deadline for buying resale tickets is Wednesday, March 15. Pre-sale tickets will be sent home on Friday, March 17. Return the order form with checks made payable to Bluffsview PTA.

Baked goods and pop bottles needed

Two of the most popular games at the Spring Carnival are the cake walk and the 2-liter pop bottle toss. We need approximately 120 cakes for the cake walk and 120 full 2-liter bottles of pop to make these games successful for the kids.

Donuts, brownies, cupcakes– homemade or store bought– are all welcome and should be dropped off on Friday, March 17. Pop may be brought to the school office any time.

Donations needed for Spring Carnival Raffle

Now that the Staff Raffle is complete, it’s time to focus on the next one– the Spring Carnival Raffle!

On Saturday, March 18, the PTA will host the annual Spring Carnival and Raffle.  This is a community-wide event that is great fun for Bluffsview students and their families.

We rely on the proceeds from the raffle to support some of the school-wide programs that the PTA is able to offer Bluffsview such as COSI on Wheels and Artists in the Schools program.  In addition, the PTA has been focused on raising funds for technology such as laptop carts and chrome books.

So, this is where you come in.  We are asking for you to consider donating an item, gift card or just a financial contribution to the Bluffsview Raffle.  We are thrilled to receive donations such as toys, games or activities for kids.  We are also in need of gift cards to restaurants, stores and events.

Raffle co-chairs Angie O’Brien and Courtney Grant are happy to do the shopping for you; just send in a check (made payable to the Bluffsview PTA) or cash with your child in an envelope marked Bluffsview Raffle Donation and they will take it from there.

We would like to acknowledge any donation through our Facebook group (Bluffsview Raffle), through promotional material that is distributed to Bluffsview families and at the event itself unless you request otherwise.

Turn in Box Tops for a good cause

The Box Tops for Education™ program is an easy way for your family and friends t support our school. For this contest all of the money we receive for turning in Box Tops will be donated to Family Mentor Foundation. Family Mentor Foundation partners with Columbus and Worthington area schools to distribute nutritious food to 350 children every weekend during the school year.

There are four types of Box Tops:
  1. Box Top Clips – these are found on hundreds of product packages and are worth $.10.
  2. Bonus Certificates – Look for these primarily in stores on specially marked packages and at checkout printed on a receipt. These vary based on the promotion.
  3. eBox Tops Codes – Occasionally, you may come across a printed 16 digit eBoxTops code.
  4. Bonus eBox Tops – When you are a member of BTFE.com and participate in your grocer’s loyalty card program, you can earn Bonus eBox Tops. These electronic bonuses are automatically credited.
Please send your clipped Box Tops and Bonus Certificates into your child’s class by Friday, February 24, 2017.
Box Tops may be submitted in plastic bags, envelopes or on the Box Tops collection sheet. Please send in any and all unexpired Box Tops. Every Box Tops counts!

Each class that collects 500 or more unexpired Box Tops will earn a Popsicle Party!

Staff raffle starts next week

The Annual Teacher Raffle will be held February 13-17.  This is a fun event enjoyed by both students and staff. Everyone has a chance to win with the 1 free ticket that will be handed out by your teacher!

These are just a few of the awesome prizes this year:

  • Extra gym class with Mr. Wilson
  • Special lunches with teachers
  • Ice cream & Pizza parties
  • Gift Cards Galore

Tickets cost .25 each or 5 for $1.00. Tickets will be available during lunchtime of Raffle week or can be preordered. The winning tickets will be drawn and winners posted on Friday, Feb. 17 right after lunch.

To preorder tickets, please use ticket order form.  Return the bottom of the flyer, including student’s name, number of tickets requested and the amount of money to cover the tickets by Feb. 10, 2017.

Volunteers are also needed to help students during the lunch time hours.  If you are able to help in any way please sign up at  SignupGenius.

Mark your calendar for Spring photos

Spring photo day is on Wednesday, Feb. 22. All children will be photographed with their respective class in a group shot. Individual Spring photos are ONLY taken of children who have prepaid or are ordering photos that day.

Class pictures cost $12 and individual photos are $5 and up. Pre-order photos by completing the forms that were sent home today or at the Lifetouch website (Picture Day ID is ZR126505G0).
