Turkey Trot shirts now available

CroppedFor the first time, the PTA is offering a t-shirt to commemorate one of Bluffview’s biggest events—the Turkey Trot. These lightweight grey t-shirts are made of 100% preshrunk combed cotton.

Please note that you DO NOT have to purchase a t-shirt to participate in the Turkey Trot.

For the first time ever, you can purchase Spirit Wear items online using the new PTA app, MySchoolAnywhere, at www.myschoolanywhere.com. If you’d like to purchase the old-fashioned way, fill out order form and return it to school. All orders must be submitted by Thursday, October 25 to guarantee delivery in time for the Turkey Trot on November 20.

Not interested in a Turkey Trot shirt? We will be offering other Spirit Wear items next month!

Help a Bluffsview mom find a bone marrow match!

Those who attended September’s PTA meeting learned that a Bluffsview mom is in need of a bone marrow transplant. Mrs. Fox asked us to share information about the Be The Match Registry®, which could help her and others who need donors.

be the matchThe first step to being someone’s cure is to join  Be The Match Registry®. If you are between the ages of 18-44, committed to donating to any patient in need, and meet the health guidelines, you can join online. Be the Match will send you a cheek swab kit in the mail within 3-7 business days. Simply swab your cheek, return the sample in the mail, and complete your registration.

If you are between the ages of 18 and 44, patients especially need you. Research shows that cells from younger donors lead to more successful transplants. Doctors request donors in the 18-44 age group 85% of the time.

Get ready for Mumkins!

On Friday, students attended an assembly to officially kick off the school Mumkin sale. Each student received:

  1. An Envelope with their name & unique web sales code
  2. A Mumkin kick-off letter (attached below)
  3. An order form for tracking

New this year: Using your student’s unique web sales code, friends and family can order online and pay via credit card!

We want this to be as easy as possible for parents and kids alike, so we have put together some verbiage, as well as photos of items available (also below) that is easy for you or your child to post or send to friends and family.

Also new this year: Any student selling 20 Mumkins will get to enjoy a VIP Pizza Party in the Teachers Lounge!

Please let Jaime Bystrek or Courtney Grant know if you have any questions.
