It’s time to order school supply kits

We are working with SchoolKidz again this year to provide school supply kits filled with the supplies requested by our teachers for each grade level and EPP.  In addition, we are offering the opportunity to purchase backpacks, lunch boxes and other accessories.

Ways to Order:

  • Orders can be placed online at www.shopttkits.com using account number 30600.  The online ordering deadline is June 1st.

  • Complete order form and return to school with a check made out to Bluffsview PTA.  If purchasing more than one kit and/or supplies, the check can be made out for the total amount. Order forms are due in the office by May 18.

Supply Kit Pick-Up Day will be August 10, the same day class lists will be posted.  Times have not yet been determined for pickup.  Watch for summer emails!  Plan Books will be available for purchase too.  All students in Grades 2- 6 will need a plan book.  They are $7.00 each.

EPP Math:  Graph paper, ear buds or headphones and calculators are available for purchase on the Bulk Order Form.  Purchasing a calculator for EPP is optional.  Geometry templates will be available for purchase on August 10th as well.  They are $8.00 each.

Please Note:  Teachers are requesting that each student have earbuds or headphones.  In Kindergarten, headphones are preferred.  They may be purchased at a store of your choosing or they are available for purchase on the Bulk Order Form.

Who needs a Parents’ Night Out?

Overdue for a date night?

Miss restaurants with no kid menus?

Have 334 errands to run?

Support our Destination Imagination team and enjoy a few hours off in the process! Drop off your kids at Bluffsview for a Play Date, and then head out for a Parents’ Night Out this Friday, May 11 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. The cost is just $10 per child.

Proceeds will benefit the 3rd grade boys Destination Imagination (“DI”) team. They are the only Worthington Schools team to advance to the Global Finals, and they are among the youngest to compete in the May 23-27 tournament in Knoxville, TN.

If you are interested, fill out this form. Space is limited, so RSVP by Thursday, May 10.

STEAM Night is tomorrow

STEAM Night (formerly known as Science Night) is tomorrow, May 8, from 6:00 until 8:00.

To kick things off, we will have the Paddy Wagon and Explorer’s Club food trucks at 5:30 and the Graeter’s Ice Cream truck. If the weather cooperates, OSU’s Drone club will be flying some of their drones. Principal Fox and some of your favorite teachers will be racing life-sized hovercrafts built by Michael Seed. Kathyayani Mahadevan has graciously agreed to bring some of STEM-U’s robots and activities, which are always a hit. Worthington’s own WorBots (who won a competition in Cleveland last weekend) will be demonstrating how their robot works. And, of course, we will have hand’s on experiments and activities.

There are still a few volunteer slots open. Please consider signing up: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e0e4cacab29a1fa7-steam
